Icky yuck gym guys!

It's no secret to my friends that I've been trying to change my lifestyle. Eat a bit healthier, lose some weight, play more sports and get some social time with my buddies.

So part of achieving that is to add a line to my list of goals: play tennis competitively by 2006 (again). Not just one tournament either, but a whole bunch. So I've been getting myself to the gym a lot trying to get back in somewhat of a tennis playing shape.

Although I love the gym, I hate the people. You know the type. The ones that sweat all over the free weights and project their body odor across the room. The type of body odor that you would only smell in rancid evil lairs complete with bubbling acid moat with villans who ... um... eat babies or something.

Overly erm... medicated/testosterone-laden guys. Ugh, any gym can do without them. I once witnessed a lady (pretty overweight) struggling to do one chin-up. While a bunch of meatheads (a term col coined) kept laughing in the backgound and finally walked up to her and said, "oh my god, you can't even do one?!" HORRIBLE!!! Just because steroids give you the ability to perform chin-ups with one pinky while a 45 lbs weight is strapped on to your penis doesn't give you the right to be condescending to others who can't. Oh yea, they smell too!

That's why I just trudge along, music blaring in my head phones while I ignore everyone.

It's a beatiful day today.

It's a Monday and the sun is shining like it was actually summer. I can't complain. I wanted to write a rant about how all I did on the weekend was work with a little bit of play snuck in but it's hard to be so negative when the sun is shining this brightly.

So I won't be.

Today, I brought out my old favorite camera. I need to start rediscovering my love for photography. Last thursday I sat in with student proposals for their final project. Some talked about their love of taking pictures and how they would like to incorporate that into their work. Their pictures were damn good. I wish I had the apptitude to take pictures like those guys.
