damn that was looong…

Yes folks, I have arrived in the Philippines save and sound! The flight was very nice; I’d recommend flying JAL on any long trips. They have funky head rests and arm rests where you could pick and watch your own movies independent of others around you. I saw The Greatest Game Ever Played (twice), Two for the Money and Corpse Bride.

I also believe that they (JAL) are obsessive compusive feeders. I think we were being fed something every hour. On the 5th hour of the flight, I had surrendered any hope of maintaining my current weight.

Last night’s temperature was 29 Celsius. Today the projected temperature is around 35-40. Yes, this is quite different from the 5-10 degrees I’m used to in Vancouver. So how am I coping to the change in climate? Two ways: (1) I’ve surrounded myself with two electric fans at any given point in time and at this moment, the airconditioner is running (take into account I’m writing this post at 7:10am). (2) I’ve also bought SPF 2000 lotion which is the same as buying an armored van to protect against pea shooters.

Pictures will be posted soon. At least until I can get this wireless router to work and upload pictures from directly infront of the airconditioner.

Can I just say two things?

Work has been kicking my ass. I, generally, try not to talk about work on this website. Reason being, (1) my co-workers read it and (2) I’ve known people getting fired for blogging about/at work. I also think that there might be a small possibility that my twisted sense of humor could be misinterpreted. I mean, if I say that I eat babies for dinner and BBQ cute puppies for dessert. To me, that means it’s a sunny day outside and I eat puppies for dessert. I guess there is a slight probability that it could be misinterpreted.

Work, lately, has been kicking my ass. Actually let me correct myself, work has raped me and left me for dead, floating face down in the neighborhood creek to be discovered by the town idiot. My only consolation is that I’m leaving for vacation next Friday. I’m heading back to the motherland (Read: Philippines). The blogging will not stop mind you. Contrary to popular belief, we do not live up on banana tree houses and the Internet is available there. I do believe that it is only dial-up access through tin-cans and string. I wonder if there is a tin-can to phone line converter available on ebay for my laptop.

The obligatory birthday post

I’m 28 today. It feels no different than 25 except toaster ovens are now valid birthday gifts. Thanks mom!

I've never been good at writing about me/site pages. It seems too much like self-promotion and being the stereotypical passive-agressive asian; I would rather walk around a crowd and into a train rather than interact with a bunch of people. I'm shy that way, which also contradicts this website that talks about me and my life. My friends and family would care to disagree though, since they've seen my crazy & loud side. More »
